At the age of sixteen, Koito Koganei recently assumed the role of priestess at the Takamimi Shrine following the passing of her grandfather. She is the caretaker of the living deity at the shrine, a stunning and ageless elf known as Elda. Unfortunately, Elda is a recluse who has been afraid to venture beyond the boundaries of the shrine ever since a young boy taunted her about her ears sixty years ago. To help Elda break out of her self-imposed shell and experience life outside of the shrine, Koito has been putting in her best effort, although the results are somewhat mixed.
